How Little We’ve Changed

We tend to think that we are a result of some evolutionary end.
That we have evolved from our past generations.
We have less bloodshed, have a larger understanding of the world, and live longer.
These may be true, but the differences are small compared to our similarities.

We may not have as much bloodshed as before but notice how all the warfare has
evolved to words, it’s all indirect, and it still determines your wellbeing.
We know far less than we presume.
And although we may live longer it’s arguable that our quality of life is any better.

Don’t confuse change in form as true change.
Our deepest drives are still with us and are not leaving us anytime soon.
Any belief otherwise is likely some delusion.
